You will surely learn a lot after going through this article as it will provide a hands on experience of an interview.
This candidate was very nervous about the selection as this was him dream job and the salary, location, profile, company, brand, etc. everything was as per his requirements. Though he was nervous, he never lost his confidence in himself. Firstly he had to go through the basic round conducted by the recruitment agency. This was an easy round for the candidate as basic questions were asked like Tell me about yourself, What are your areas of interest?, Are you a team player?, etc.
Once the recruitment agency was satisfied with the candidate’s answers, he was sent to the company. Here, he was made to go through an aptitude written test first. This was a half an hour objective type test to judge the basic level of aptitude. Though the score was not disclosed to his, he was told that he had cleared the same and was asked to wait for the next round. The next round was a tough one wherein he was asked the below mentioned dicey questions:
1.Have you ever had a conflict with a boss or professor? How was it resolved?
2.If you had to live your life over again, what one thing would you change?
Here are the answers he gave which got him through the selection process. The first question was asked to judg
e various qualities of the candidate like is he honest, how the candidate deals with unpleasant situations, will he obey orders as they are given or will question if he is not clear about them, etc. Generally if the candidate replies with a no, the interviewer will grill further to make sure he is saying a truth. Fortunately, to this question, this candidate remained honest and replied that yes he had disagreements but not big conflicts with his previous employer. However, he pointed out that conflicts or disagreements help in understanding the other person’s perspective of the situation at hand and to work in a collaborative manner. It is good to discuss and work on something wholeheartedly than to remain silent and work with little passion. This was indeed a great reply to which the employer responded, yes true. To the second question, the candidate replied that he is satisfied with the overall life that he has gone through. However, he regrets missing an opportunity because of some uncontrollable factors.
The second round was successfully completed. In the last round of interview conducted he was made to solve certain puzzles that judged the presence of mind of the candidate. Though it was a tough day, the end result made him happy as he was selected for the vacancy.
